Was f\u00fcr ein Tag.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Am Morgen hatte ich noch einen halben Liter Wasser und nichts zu essen, das ohne Kochen auskommt. Der Plan war einfach: zur n\u00e4chsten Wasserquelle laufen, einige Meilen entfernt, direkt auf dem Trail markiert. Handy aus um Akku zu sparen, einfach loslaufen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Irgendwann habe ich einen Blick auf die Karte geworfen. Die Quelle lag nicht direkt auf dem Trail \u2014 nur knapp daneben, nahe genug, dass der Unterschied erst beim starken Reinzoomen sichtbar wurde. Ich hatte die Abzweigung bereits um drei Meilen verpasst, alles bergab. Zur\u00fcckgehen kam nicht in Frage.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Die n\u00e4chste Quelle lag etwas mehr als neun Meilen entfernt. Ich hatte nichts gegessen, ich hatte kaum noch Wasser, und war wieder in der W\u00fcste \u2014 h\u00fcgelig, aber mit eindeutig w\u00fcsten\u00e4hnlichem Gel\u00e4nde. Gl\u00fccklicherweise wehte den ganzen Tag ein k\u00fchler Wind. Ohne ihn w\u00e4re es wirklich unangenehm geworden.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Etwa vier Meilen vor der n\u00e4chsten Quelle bin ich auf eine sehr seichte, nicht gerade angenehm riechende Pf\u00fctze gestossen. Ich habe dreimal gefiltert \u2014 zuerst durch den Trinkschlauch um das Gr\u00f6bste zu entfernen und den Filter zu sch\u00fctzen, dann durch den Filter selbst, und schliesslich mit Aquatabs gereinigt und mit Elektrolyten aufgewertet. Ein Liter trinkbares Wasser. Noch immer nichts zu essen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Unten habe ich die Gruppe von vier Hikern getroffen, die ich am Tag 21 erw\u00e4hnt hatte. Sie haben mir Gas und Snacks gegeben \u2014 ich war wirklich dankbar, besonders f\u00fcr das Essen. Nach drei Energieriegeln und zwei Packungen Kartoffelstock war die Welt wieder in Ordnung.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Cowboy Camping in der Nacht war perfekt \u2014 bis der Mond aufging. Er war absurd, fast komisch hell, wie ein aufgestellter Scheinwerfer. Ohne Stirnlampe h\u00e4tte ich jeden Stein gesehen. Irgendwann bin ich aufgewacht und habe im Rucksack gesucht, ohne jedes Licht zu ben\u00f6tigen. Es hat peinlich lange gedauert, bis ich auf die Idee gekommen bin, die M\u00fctze \u00fcber die Augen zu ziehen. Danach war schlafen einigermassen m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Die Gruppe erw\u00e4hnte, dass sie am n\u00e4chsten Tag jemanden besuchen w\u00fcrden \u2014 m\u00f6glicherweise mit Platz f\u00fcr einen weiteren Hiker.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
